Imus silence unbelievable
Well its September the 7th and I just wanted to express the disgust and shock over Imus's silence. We as a collective group fought to keep, then bring back, Imus's radio show. I kept thinking he was just getting things in order and then come out firing. But I've finally given up on him putting up a fight at all. Don I still think you're a voice sorely missed in this world of consolidated media, but I can't for the life of me figure out why you wouldn't fight for your right to speak as much as your audience. In the words of you before being gelded, you look like a "big pussy" at this point.
Those who are sick and tired of political correctness and corporate greed. Stand up and be heard!
If you are outraged at the piling on of a man who said something stupid (on a comedic show) but apologized. Truly apologized and still can find no forgiveness from the outragemongers stand up and be heard. Show the hypocrites of the corporate world and the non-elected spoke persons for the black community we also have a vote. I will be boycotting all the products from the mentioned companies as well as all other companies that advertise on MSNBC. They should not be allowed to sneak out of the back door during this current situation. Staples, Proctor & Gamble, MSNBC and others have made combined MILLIONS from Imus. Did they not know what the show was about? Sure they did. And they were fine with it. In fact they were thrilled about it as long as they were making money and didn't have to weather any storms.
Now they think they can dump a man whose made them millions and their hands are clean. I say if Imus must go then the sponsors and television station that gave him the platform must go too. Why should they be allowed to collect all the money, then get a pat on the back for dropping Imus when they are the responsible parties for having him on the air to begin with.
I hope you and everyone you know will stand up with me and boycott not only the three companies listed here but all companies that played fair weather friend to Don Imus and his morning program.
And before any one thinks it, I do not condemn or condone the words Imus spoke. That is for the young ladies at Rutgers to judge. Not some bottom feeders with their fake outrage right before they pass the hat around asking for donations. Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson in particular, have made their living and fortune off of other's pain and blood. One is preaching morals with an illegitimate child and the other has been on the wrong side of disputes that are too numerous to mention.
Stop the madness and hit these cowards where it hurts. In their pocket books and ratings.
KCAA radio gives Imus fans something to cheer about
I'm proud to announce that at least one radio station has decided to continue airing "Best of" Imus shows. This is good for Imus fans to recieve their fix of the I-man. But this should be celebrated for much bigger reasons.
First and formost I think this is a perfect example why we should demand our legistlatures stop the monoply that the media moguls have embarked on and lawmakers have allowed. This is one of many examples why there needs to be local and/or limited ownership of radio/tv stations. That way its the decision of many not the decision of Steve Capus and Les Moonves.
It also opens up a discussion about what Imus said. If Al and Jesse really wanted to make a difference they would want to discuss the issues not call for a someones head to pack around as a trophy and scare others into silence. Instead of an honest and open discussion, everyone is afraid.
A perfect example of this was when Imus went into the lions den to apologize and discuss the issue. He couldn't even get a discussion going. Then he makes a commment (out of frustration)"you people," to the 2 people he's talking to and they immediately went on the defensive; qouting him in an accusitory tone.
